Atlanta Georgia is the home of the professional basketball team Atlanta Hawks. The home games for this team are played at the Phillips Arena which is located in downtown Atlanta. The team was established in 1946 when they were first known as the Buffalo Bisons. This is when they were in the National Basketball League. The team moved to Moline Illinois after 13 games and they team name changed to the Tri-City Blackhawks. They became a part of the NBA National Basketball League in 1949. Just a couple of years later; 1951, the team moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where their name was changed to the Hawks.
