Stephen Stills was born in the year 1945 in Dallas, Texas. From as early as 15 years old has been caught up with music, and has been playing professionally since 1962.

He has been as versatile in his genres - country rock, blues rock, Latin, folk rock– as he has been with his instruments – guitar, keyboards, and vocals. He has mastered all those instruments to the extent that he came to be known as a multi-instrumentalist. Stephen is a songwriter, along with his singing.

We have all known him as part of the group Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and he was part of that group for almost a decade, and they presented three albums of which the most popular was 'Buffalo Springfield'.

With the onset of the 70s, Stills and his group disbanded, and he went solo. His first album as a solo artist was 'Stephen Stills' and in that album, it was noticeable that he had many guests who were part of the album such as David Cosby, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Cass Elliot, among others. From this album the single Love The One You Are With came up as US No.14 hit single.

His next album was with the same name 'Stephen Stills 2'. At that interval in his career, he could be found just writing a song or acting as a guitarist to another singer; for Bill Withers in the album Just As I Am, and in that album, the song Ain’t no sunshine went on to get a Grammy.

In 1974, along with Columbia records as the producing company, he came out with three successive albums 'Stills' in 1975, followed by 'Illegal Stills' in 1976, and lastly 'Thoroughfare Gap' which came out in 1978.

Then, for quite a while, he attempted to reunite with his previous partners, and that went on for a while until they reunited for good till the present day. On the other hand, he went on to record as a solo artist, and in 1984 got released his album 'Right By You' which came up in the Billboard 200. It was, however, the last of his albums to make it to the billboards.

'Stills Alone' followed in 1991, and it was not until 2005 that he released a solo single - Man Alive. It was sadly not widely reviewed despite the fact that he had been inducted into the Hall of Fame. That had been in 1997, and strangely it had been twice in one day for his contribution with Buffalo Springfield and with CSN.

For many years he had released compilations of his previous works while at the same time touring either in the US or in Europe as a solo artist.

With surprises up his sleeve, Stephen Stills released an album in 2013 'Can't Get Enough'. It was a blues album along with Kenny Shepherd and Garry Goldberg, and in 2014 he released yet another album 'All You Can Do'.

He supports his albums with extensive touring, and he is still active, a cancer survivor and has more music up his sleeve!
