Toronto, Ontario is where the team Toronto Raptors are based. The team was started during the year of 1995, the same time that the Vancouver Grizzlies team started. They were started as an expansion team for NBA in Canada. The Grizzlies moved to Memphis Tennessee eventually and they became known as the Memphis Grizzlies; this occurred in 2001. When the Grizzlies moved, the Raptors became the only Canadian NBA team. Their home games were originally played at the SkyDome before they moved in 1999 to the Air Canada Centre. During the early years of the team’s existence it struggled; like many other beginning teams. However they made it to the NBA Playoffes in 2000, 2001, and 2002.
