Logic’s artistry inspiration came from Frank Sinatra who largely influenced many aspects of his persona, as well as refers to his female fans as BobbySoxers. Furthermore, his personal life as a child was awash by watching old black and white movies, which were his mother’s favorite that formed the direction for his love of music and being a singer. He believes Frank Sinatra’s instrumentals made him articulate and carry himself the way he does, as well as describes Sinatra as a showcase of peace, grace, love, valor, positivity, and honor.
The instrumentals Logic uses are mainly drawn from vocals, drum machine, keyboard, sampler, synthesizer, and piano. He further believes that several forms of entertainment influenced his musical career such as Outkast, A Tribe Called Quest, Chili Peppers, Drake, J. Cole, Red Hot and movies done by Quentin Tarantino. He also refers to himself as a big pothead when he was growing up as a teenager, as well as talks about smoking since he was thirteen, as well as trying gigs with alcohol and marijuana. However, he dedicated ‘Under Pressure’ to Nicki Minaj for his fights with smoking cigarettes from which he pledged never to smoke another cigarette since the release of the album. He also has a YouTube channel where he showcases and posts videos of his favorite video games.
