Born Thomas Luther Bryan on 17 July 1976, Luke Bryan is an American country music singer and songwriter, known widely for hits such as ‘That’s My Kind of Night’ and “Drink a Beer’ among other great hits. Born in Leesburg, Georgia he later moved to Nashville to pursue his musical career after high school. In 2007, he signed with Capitol Nashville in Nashville, Tennessee together with his cousin, Chad Christopher Boyd where they released his first album, ‘I’ll Stay Me’. This album earned him a Top New Male Vocalist nomination in the Academy of Country Music.
The first album contained hit singles such as ‘All My Friends Say’, ‘Country Man’, and ‘We Rode in Trucks’ that made him slew into other hit albums and songs. Two years down the line, he released his second album, Doin’ My Thing’ that also topped at No.2 on the country music charts containing hits such as ‘Rain Is a Good Thing’, as well as “Someone Else Calling You Baby’ that stayed No.1 on the music country charts.
Bryan waited for another two years before releasing his third album, ‘Tailgates & Tanlines’ that performed very well seeing four singles featuring in the Top 5 of the country charts. The album included hits such as ‘I Don’t Want This Night To End’, ‘Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye’, and ‘Drunk on You’ all hitting No. 1, as well as contained the song ‘Country Girl (Shake It for Me)’. His fourth album, ‘Crash My Party’ in 2013 proved to be the artist’s crossover to success by winning the Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year Award, which also hit at No. 1 on pop and country charts. The album also performed by three singles hitting No. 1 on the country charts.
He later earned his first Country Music Association Award in 2014 by winning the coveted Entertainer of the Year’s Award. He released his fifth album, ‘Kill The Light’ in 2015 containing the hit single ‘Kick the Dust Up’ that became his 13th No. 1 song and his 14th No. 1 song, ‘Strip It Down’. He later sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl Ll in February 2017 at NRG Stadium in Houston.
Apparently, Luke Bryan co-wrote almost all his hit songs apart from ‘Drunk On You’, Drink A Beer’, ‘Kick The Dust Up’, ‘Play It Again’, ‘Home Alone Tonight’, ‘That’s My Kind Of Night’, ‘Crash My Party’, ‘Roller Coaster’, and ‘Play It Again’. He also co-produced all the four albums in addition to a single compilation with Jeff Stevens. In his active musical career, he has sold more than 7 million albums in addition to 27 million singles worldwide. He has also organized several headlining tours including Dirt Road Diaries Tour in 2013, That’s My Kind of Night Tour between 2014 and 2015, Kick the Dust Up Tour in 2015, Kill The Lights Tour between 2016 and 2017, and Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day Tour in 2017. He is also supporting charities and causes such as City of Hope and Red Cross.
