The team was started in the 1940’s in the All American Football Conference, also known as the AAFC. Paul Brown was their first coach. For about four years of the team’s existence they won championships. The best season for the team was in 1948, however, the team continued to prosper with winning games once they moved up to the NFL in 1950.
